Quadco Rehabilitation Center

CARF Review

CARF surveyors impressed with Quadco

Committed leadership and staff members guided by a dedicated board of directors, a variety of businesses that provide meaningful training opportunities for the individuals with disabilities being served, an effective system of quality and excellent outcome results were all noted in an accreditation survey just completed at Quadco Rehabilitation Center.
The attributes led to Quadco receiving a three-year accreditation from CARF, formerly known as the Commission on the Accrediation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Quadco Executive Director Bruce Abell said that two surveyors from CARF spent two days touring the programs at Quadco, interviewing board members, staff, parents, participants and outside agency representatives and reviewing reports while comparing what they saw to the commission's standards that help organizations measure and improve the quality of their rehabilitation programs.
Mr. Abell noted the surveyors met with him and other staff members following the survey and said how impressed they were with what they found.
The strengths noted by the surveyors ranged from an enthusiastic and committed administrative and clinical staff to the satisfaction from individuals receiving services, employers and business customers as well as the agencies who refer people to Quadco for services.
He said the surveyors commended the direct services staff for their personal commitment to the individuals with whom they work. Their interviews showed that those individuals felt supported in meaningful ways and the results of their desired outcomes was excellent.
The reviewers found that Quadco provides an extensive array of work for the persons served and is committed to production quality as shown by the ISO quality certification at both the Stryker and Archbold plant locations.
The two complimented the center for its community information and outreach efforts, the proactive approach to its reorganization over the past three years, its complete individual records and for the development of it senior activities center.
Mr. Abell said there were three areas the surveyors found to be exemplary. Those were for the business enterprises and equipment that provide for a realistic training environment, the system of quality control, and the health maintenance and medication management program.
